OUR BELIEF

What We Believe

God

There is only one living and true God, who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Spirit, in perfect unity. God is the creator and sustainer of all things and sovereign over all His creation.

Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. He died on the cross but on the third day, He was raised from the dead. He will come again to judge the living and dead.

Humanity

All people, men and women, are created in God’s image to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. However, all people sinned in Adam, seeking to live independently of Him, doing things their own way. Sin is all conditions and actions that go against God’s will. Human nature is thoroughly corrupted by sin. This makes everyone subject to God’s righteous anger and condemnation. It totally separated human beings from God to the extent that they can never get to know God by their own senses and intellect. Thus human beings need the Bible, God’s special revelation, concerning God’s gift of salvation. We cannot save ourselves or make ourselves right before God.

Bible: His Revelation

The Bible, both the Old and New Testament, is the special revelation of God’s will to humans, given through the divine inspiration, to be the Word of God. As the Word of God, it is inerrant in its original writings and is sufficient for our knowledge of God and is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. Without the Bible, human beings cannot gain the true knowledge of the Creator and His will.

Salvation

As human beings cannot atone for their sins and save themselves from eternal death, God sent His Son Jesus to be a sacrifice for sins. He received God’s punishment and died on the cross in the place of all who believe in Him and He paid for their sins. Because of Jesus’ death, those who believe are reconciled to God, forgiven, justified, and adopted as God’s children. Only by repenting of our sin and faith in Jesus as the Saviour, do we receive forgiveness from our sin and are gifted eternal life.

Church

We believe the church is important as the gathering where Christians are built up and new disciples made through the preaching of the gospel of Jesus. Continual prayer and worship service are the foundation of the Church. All people in the Church are to serve each other as part of one body with Jesus Christ as the head.

Our Logo

The symbol is taken from the shape of our front door of the church.

It has a three fold structure that symbolises the presence and work of the Father, the Son, and the Spirit that brings us to life in Christ and to worship. Jesus said that He is the door. So it has a cross in the centre.

The three jutting points show the direction of our attention in worship. One on top: our worship is offered to the Lord in heaven believing that our hope is also in heaven. Horizontal jutting shows that our worship, where the gospel is preached, should also be recognised as our testimony to the world.
